A potent compound found in broccoli destroys the bacterium that causes ulcers and stomach cancers, new research reports. The compound, called sulforaphane, killed Helicobacter pylori, a tough, antibiotic-resistant bacterium that is responsible for thousands of cases of ulcers and stomach cancer worldwide.
