ISS Bean Sprout Wash System 

The sprouts are carried through the tank and into the "cleaning fingers," where they are cleaned, hulled  and their roots removed. They are then conveyed onto your air knife, centrifuge bucket, packing table or into your packaging machine. The tank, frame and all internal components are constructed of stainless steel.

The tapered bottom allows for quick and easy cleanup. Designed to require very little maintenance, the ISS Bean Sprout Washing System leaves an excellent quality bean sprout with improved storage capabilities.   

The ISS control panel operates on either manual or automatic mode. The automatic mode gives you maximum separation without physical damage to the final product. In the manual mode, the controls allow you to step up the pace for those days when time is of the essence.  The control panel, which can be conveniently placed beside a key worker on the production line, controls all electrical components, including rinse water on the exit conveyor.

Our own sprout production facility, Sungarden Sprouts, has been growing and washing bean sprouts since 1979.  We are concerned about product quality, product safety, personnel safety, labor and operating costs.  We take this into account in each and every piece of equipment we design.  Refinement never ceases. 

Sanitary and Easy to Clean

We design the system to be easy to clean and sanitize.  It has clean lines and plenty of room under it to allow cleaning under it. The clear acrylic conveyor covers allow you to see the product on the conveyor, but slips right off so the conveyor can be cleaned.  Gear covers are removable for cleaning.  The control panel has a clear watertight cover and is wash-down.  The entire system, including the motors, is wash-down.  Gears and bearings are equipped with food grade grease.  The skimmers pop off for cleaning.  No belts, motors, gears or electrical parts are exposed to the product.  A three inch (7.6cm) drain with ball valve allows quick drainage without clogging.  The adjustable entrance spray bar is equipped with an easily removable end plug for cleaning.

Safety Features

In the event that a worker falls into or gets caught in the system, all mechanical parts use idler arms that automatically adjust belts and allow for slippage under extreme pressure. The amount of pressure is adjustable by the operator. There is an emergency cord around three sides that can be reached from all four sides.  When the cord is pulled, all systems shut down.  The gears and motors are protected with safety shields that are unobtrusive and allow the tank to be accessed from either side.  No motors or electrical parts are located over the tank or the water.
