Research on Sprouting ISS has been doing research on sprouting since 1979. It has also collected and reviewed over a thousand research articles dating back to the thirties. Customers can call their ISS sales person for information related to it topics of interest. Most of our research involves quality, yield, and labor. For research on nutrition see Nutrition of Sprouts above. Below are research articles regarding safety which have appeared in SproutNet and we gladly share with everyone. There is some promising work being undertaken by ISS, the USDA, and individual researchers with regard to decontamination that is quite promising. However, there is no question that the most sensible method of preventing outbreaks in sprouts is to start with seed that is not contaminated in the first place. See ISS Certified Sprouting Seed or the research at in the Seed Sampling and Testing section. If you are a researcher interested in research that may help the sprouting industry please call Bob Rust at ISS at 931 526 1106 x107. Bob may be able to put you in touch with others working on similar research. These bookmarks will take you to research areas involving sprouts. use your browser BACK arrow to return back here.
